  1. Go to the Twitter log-in page on your web browser.
  2. Click “Forgot password?”
  3. Enter an email address or phone number that you have linked with your account.
  4. Click “Search”.
  5. Twitter will then present you with options to reset your password. Select whichever option you see fit.
  6. Click “Continue”.
  7. Depending on the option you chose, Twitter will send an email or text message to your phone number.
  8. Open the email/text message Twitter has sent you.
  9. Select “Reset password”.

Now let’s move on to a different scenario. This time, you have forgotten not just your password but also the linked phone number.

Here’s how to reset your password if you forgot Twitter username and password while not having access to the linked phone number.

  1. Go to the Twitter log-in page on your web browser.
  2. Click “Forgot password?”
  3. Enter an email address that you have linked with your account.
  4. Click “Search”.
  5. Twitter will then present you with options to reset your password.
  6. Select to send a link to your email.
  7. Click “Continue”.
  8. Open the email Twitter has sent you.
  9. Select “Reset password”.
  10. Enter your new password twice.
  11. Click “Submit”.

In this scenario, you have forgotten your username and email.

  4. Click “Search”.
  5. Select to send a link to your phone number.
  6. Click “Continue”. Twitter will send a text message to your phone number.
  7. Open the text message Twitter has sent you.
  8. Select “Reset password”.
  9. Enter your new password twice.
  10. Click “Submit”.

Reset Twitter password without email and phone number

To reset Twitter password, you will need either a linked email or phone number. If you don’t have both, you cannot regain access to your access and thus, cannot reset your password.

In such a situation, all you can do is to contact Twitter support and hope they will help you regain access to your account.

Do the following to reset Twitter password without email and phone number.

  1. Go to https://help.twitter.com/forms/signin
  2. You will see two dropdown menus.
  3. Select “I need to regain access to…” on the first menu.
  4. On the second menu, select “I forgot my password”.

  7. Describe the problem you are having.
